Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has pledged support towards improving administrative and operational capacity of the Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) operating in the state.
Governor Ikpeazu gave the assurance in the Government House, Umuahia, while playing host to the management team of the Nigeria Film Commission.

According to him, such moves makes sense since the first recipients of their service will be the people of the state.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, told the Governor that they were in Government House to thank him for his kind approval of a befitting accommodation to the Commission to set up their South East Zonal Office in the State.

He noted that for several years, the Commission had sought assistance from states of the South East to establish a Zonal Office so that the activities of the Commission can impact directly on the people here.

He stated that as soon as the request was brought to the attention of Governor Ikpeazu, he immediately granted the request and that now, the Commission is well accommodated in Umuahia and will from there coordinate its activities in the entire South East region.
